Rainy day

Category: Generaladmin @ 4:18 pm

It hasn’t rained this hard in so long. This morning, in true rainy day melancholic fashion, I sat at the balcony doors with Sia’s “Breathe Me” churning away, just watching the rain pummeling the windows. It hasn’t stopped all day, from early morning to late afternoon the skies seem to have cracked open and let loose. I’m a sucker for bad weather, always becoming completely mesmerised. The only thing that could top it all today is a huge thunderstorm. Sia’s music really is great for rainy days and I’m excited to hear her newest album - Some People Have Real Problems - I love it when you randomly discover your favourite artists have a new album out. Same goes for Ani DiFranco’s new retrospective album, Canon.

A & I watched Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus the other day which we concluded was an odd, but quite good film. Didn’t particularly like the title, and Kidman’s acting seemed pretty decent (although it’s entirely fictional). Also after being a long time fan of Augusten Burroughs we finally got to see the film adaptation of Running With Scissors, which was a little disappointing when related to the book, but I guess most adaptations always lack something.

The Rubber Ball was good. Perhaps not as.. extreme as I was expecting (or hoping), but some of the shows were really good and the music was blinding. It was good getting together with some friends that I felt had been missing for a while and hopefully Hilton enjoyed himself (despite a few minor complications). Anyway, here’s a few photos of us before we left, and then some taken of Hilton by another photographer called Paul Brown (not sure on his site).
