On the way back from an asylum the other day we drove to the top of a hill and watched the sunset. Ah, bliss.

Sorry about the lack of updates. The last few weeks feel like a bit of a whirlwind (all good!). Will update more tomorrow.. here’s a photo from a recent asylum jaunt (yep, the summer adventures are ON baby!)

I swear I could live in red and yellow forever. I need nothing more! Maybe a hint of blue…

There’s this cafĂ© that Kt and I keep going to in the mornings for breakfast. It does the best home made hash browns I’ve ever had. Anyway, we met this morning for photo ideas and attempted to hit the shops to find clothes that we needed. I’m super excited as I have a new housemate who is Queen Explorer, so this summer is going to be like 2006 – The Summer of Adventures! So expect lots of nice dereliction from all over the place. It’s going to be ace! She’s super nice and just my kind o’ gal. Little bit of nerd mixed with crazy exhibitionist. It’s been so warm again, strolling around in a thin cotton shirt felt very good on the skin. I want to get my hair done, similar to something like this, but it’s not long enough yet! Argh…

My daffodils that I only bought yesterday as buds completely opened up over night, and once they got a blast of the morning sun. They’re sitting perched on my desk, next to some colourful fruit and it all feels sickeningly like spring already! I have a real good feeling about spring and summer!

We just watched Trantasia, an interesting documentary featuring six of the contestants competing for The World’s Most Beautiful Transsexual Pageant. It was quite intiguing, although I found the reasons that some of the people became women a little confusing. It seemed to follow a lot of people that wanted to become a woman so that they could become an entertainer. For that, I expected to see a lot more drag queens, as opposed to transexuals. I would have expected to have seen transexuals as people that felt that something wasn’t right from when they were a child, that they were born the wrong sex. One contestant even says (and I’m paraphrasing) “I became a transexual because I wanted to be an entertainer, I thought this is how I’d get famous.” Very odd way of doing it! Anyway, it’s a great documentary (if you’re into that kind of thing) – some of them look amazing, others… not so. Mimi Marks won! She’s a pretty hot tranny.

Mmmm, today was such a nice day. I finally had a really good, solid sleep. I think I may have a spot of tonsillitis, but I am hoping it’ll go away (I’ve given up on asking for them to be removed). It’s been so sunny the last few days, it’s felt like an entirely different world. I had a very nice, low-key weekend. It was Pi Day on Saturday (March 14th/3.14), so a few of the gang and I decided to cook a pie (clichĂ©, chicken, vegetable and creamy), watch Pi, and then endure hours of eating and playing Little Big Planet. Oh yes, Gemma also knitted a special cat ears hat for me in red and blue. KT has a matching one (in reverse colours). It’s now my favourite hat, although it does garner a few looks in the street..

Spent Sunday scouting the internet for something to do, before driving off into the sun and arriving at an animal farm. I pretty much love animals, but goats win hands down, especially baby goats (or goatlets, as I like to call them). SHOCK HORROR, they actually had baby goats! We were so tempted to steal one away but then realised it would grow into a Papa Goat and neither of us were really sure about that, so we left the little dancing, hopping creatures behind. Also played in the adventure playground, probably much to the disgust of the other adults who seemed confused as to whether we were just really weird adults, or if Roger was our care worker. Either way, we still got some strange looks. Oh yes, Roger tried to let a cow lick my hand, but I was having none of that. I love animal farms. Who says they’re just for kids? Oh yes, and turkeys.. not acceptable creatures. I think they are the ugliest looking things I have ever seen.

Also saw the largest rabbit I have ever seen in my life, which, quite frankly, I found a bit scary..

Then went off for a mini drive and found a nice country pub with a garden and pond. Had a rather lovely glass of wine as the sun slowly set and life felt… blissful…? Also went on a bit of a skip-diving jaunt, which was unsuccessful. However, we did find this skip full of the most beautiful shavings of metal! As well as the sleeping swan, in the middle of the road (previously posted).
